Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Manager of the Leasing and Asset Finance Division (L&AF), the Accounting and Operations Manager is responsible for the overall accounting and operational management of leases, loans, and equity investments to ensure transactions are accounted for and reported to conform with generally accepted accounting principles, and the bank's policies and procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
* Accounting (book and tax) for loans, leases, subsidiaries and partnership investments
* Budgeting and forecasting, reviewing internal management reporting
* Subsidiary cash management including monitoring and maintaining funding lines of credit
* Property and sales tax filing for lease assets
* Income tax reporting and settlements
* Lease booking and servicing, invoicing and payment processing
* Ensuring audit and regulatory compliance
* Managing daily operations of unit efficiently to ensure accuracy and efficiency of department operations
* Performing on-going review of unit's processes to determine opportunities for improvement, and special projects as assigned
Manages the Accounting and Operations team:
* Responsible for hiring and overseeing accounting and operations staff including:
* Setting performance plans, conducting performance reviews
* Making recommendations to management for staffing decisions
* Provide coaching, counseling, and employee training.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to present to executive management as required, as well as successfully manage multiple tasks and projects to meet or exceed deadlines.
* Strong knowledge of banking/financial services industry.
* Knowledge of leasing/loan transactions, systems and accounting (including FAS 13).
* Strong technology skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
* Must be proficient at understanding and communicating GAAP and bank polices as they relate to commercial lending, leasing and partnership investment.
* Strong knowledge of federal/state income tax, partnership tax, sales/use tax, and property tax laws.
* Superior organizational skills, analytical skills, project and process management abilities.
* Management experience preferred.
* Ability to interact with various levels of management within the organization.
* BA or BS degree in accounting and minimum of 7 years related experience.
* CPA strongly desired, but not required.
