Role Purpose :

The Head of Front Office Technology will have ownership of delivery for cross asset trading systems associated with eTrading, Distribution, Connectivity and Real-time/front office risk management applications. The Front office Technology Team is one of the most exciting and fast-paced teams responsible for delivering the electronic trading technology platform. The team is closely integrated with front office teams and responsibilities include developing the market making, algorithm execution, market execution and data distribution platforms.

This includes designing global client strategy, delivering appropriate channel management, algorithmic trading, client connectivity and ensuring margin maximization. The FOS team also has responsibility for the global Sales Trader Workflow interaction to ensure both voice and electronic trades are ticketed efficiently and that the front office deliver high quality, timely and accurate ticket flow to the support organizations and allow them to manage the back office functions of MUFG at low cost. The role requires a high level of expertise both in leading teams and hands-on experience of developing high-performance, low-latency platforms.

Job Responsibilities :

Ø Leading a team of Front office trading solutions engineers to strategize, implement and oversee work flow solutions for fixed income, debt, equity, derivatives and structured products.

Ø Drive the design and development of eTrading platform architecture by working with end-users of the systems, and enhance the quality of deliverables.

Ø Continuous engagement in Problem Management to ensure recurrences are correctly tracked and resolution is provided

Ø On behalf of a global financial services organization, act as a Global Point of Escalation for incidents, including senior stakeholder management and the production of ad hoc reports for executives

Ø Address incoming critical escalations from executives or key stakeholders, and coordinate response to facilitate resolution

Preventing or mitigating service impact by managing Major Incident Handling, facilitating service recovery; gathering required support teams, handling escalations, issuing communications, and preparing executive communications Support Command & Control teams, locally and virtually, to ensure a consistent standard-working practice is adhered to globally

Ø Ability to Design produce complete operational market work flow and interact with all market participants.

Ø Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the strategic objective and ensure the team adheres to best practices and process.

Ø Assess the overall risk exposure of trading platform and ensure that applications needed to support the needs of the Bank are provided in times of system failure or disaster.

Ø Help manage the company’s product roadmap and development lifecycle

Ø Develop a vision for the team around roles and responsibilities, and structure team to ensure greatest impact, efficient use of resources, and alignment to business structures

Ø Drive the design and development of system architecture, work with end-users of the systems, and enhance the quality of deliverables.

Ø Work with Front office leadership team to achieve long-term strategic initiatives

Ø Create, maintain various product documents, status reports, and daily/weekly communications

Ø Ensure staff follows the firms documented policies and procedures

Ø Prepare and present regular team/project reviews to senior management and business leaders

Ø Monitor and manage end results, budgeting, planning, policy formation, and contribute to future strategy of the areas.

Ø Review the existing controls, documentation, approvals and ensure all the changes include new and revised regulatory reporting requirements

Ø Research and resolve issues, provide recommendations, and escalate to senior management as needed

Ø Conducts risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption. Develops service level recovery standards and agreement with vendors. Develops and deploys documentation and communication of the disaster procedures to the relevant stakeholders.

Ø Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the firm, its clients and assets.

Ø Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes for the department and ensure transparency and consistency across teams

Ø Participate in customer-facing demos, sales, and exploratory outreach.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities

Ø Direct hands-on experience with fixed income products ( Rates, Credit , Money Market , MBS , FX etc)

Ø A leader in initiating and driving projects to solve problems or business needs, even when faced with high ambiguity. Proactively anticipate potential obstacles to ensure successful project outcomes

Ø A good understanding of the architecture of electronic trading applications (high frequency, low latency environments, Java Technology stack) is required.

Ø 15+ years of relevant experience in system application development , production support management and 10+ years of managerial experience.

Ø Prior experience interacting with fixed income traders, sales, vendor , PMs, desks, and fixed income operations.

Ø Proven experience within the financial services industry , up-to-date knowledge of relevant trends, securities , capital markets and other products

Ø Working knowledge of the industry and competitors’ products and servicesØ Demonstrated leadership, management, and development skills

Ø Strong capabilities working across technology, data and information systems software

Ø Advanced knowledge of strategic direction of the function within relevant part of the business

Ø Experience with Scrum methodology, Cloud-based development and DevOps architecture.

Ø Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications

Education:

Ø Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Ø PMP Certification, MBA, Specific to business Licenses and other

The typical base pay range for this role is between $175K - $220K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
